As a proshipper, I'm supportive of all fictional content, even if I don't consume it. Here are some of them and my takes on it!Bold italics are the trigger warnings. Even if it's not canon sibling, like Sonic and Tails or Shadow and Maria, I prefer them as sibling. I have friends and are in fandom spaces who like these ships and yea it's not my cup of tea but we're not at each other's throats for it.Non-con/Dub-con is something I didn't understand why someone would write or read and let alone enjoy it. I remember reading something from a victim explaining how it helped them but I still didn't get it. Personal experience: It was only when someone sent me a fic with this tag, that when I read through it, I found out I was being taken advantage of. Perhaps I knew deep down but I was afraid to face it. But that fanfic made me realize that what was done to me was not normal and that I should be angry about it. What the character felt in the fanfic was what I should be feeling, but I didn't dare to let myself feel that way. Because letting myself feel, means I'm admitting to what happened to me. In a way, the way the character was written helped me process my thoughts and emotions. So when people outwardly say they want this to happen to them irl, I am very concerned and pretty sure they don't know how detrimental rape can be.
I'm not saying all these to garner sympathy. But it'll be nice if we all listen and learn, and let people cope through fiction.
